During the 1930's, Epiphone ended up being one of the few manufacturers to take jazz music earnestly and so they launched the Sheraton, a hollow bodied f-hole guitar that allowed musicians to play as loudly as they wished minus the feedback they were getting with similar guitars. Fast-forward to 2002 with the release of the Epiphone Elitist Sheraton guitar and Epiphone did the impossible. They made the Sheraton even better.
Finally the first Epiphone Sheraton guitar was supplanted in interest by the Gibson ES-355 which was likewise introduced in nineteen thirty, although there were a lot of well-known jazz musicians who continued to sing it's praises. But the Sheraton was ultimately discontinued in 1970 only to be released again in the late '80s. The Epiphone Sheraton II was launched in 94' as a less expensive guitar that would attract more people. Last but not least, the Elitist line was born in 2003 as a compromise guitar that could interest both the cost conscious and the expensive Gibson enthusiasts.
Every guitar manufacturer has a semi-hollowbody guitar for sale nowadays but it's hard to match the classic body design of the Sheraton. And the Elitist version brings style and quality to new levels. It's surely a guitar created for the professional musician.
You'll observe blues and rock players with many different semi-hollowbodies but the Epiphone Elitist Sheraton guitar looks designed for jazz. The reality is the abalone and mother-of-pearl inlays alone seem to scream "Play Jazz!"
Available in the vintage sunburst finish or in a natural finish it has a marbled pickguard, gold plated hardware, cream bindings and really looks plain exquisite!
